Not Bad For The Price!

The Bottom Line: For a treadmill that sells at just under $1K, the Smooth 5.0 is decent. It's better suited to walkers, I think, than to runners.

I recently bought a Smooth 5.0 treadmill. I was reviewing a web site called treadmilldoctor.com and they gave it a “Best Buy” rating in its' price range. I thought this required some additional research. I found that Prevention Magazine also reviewed it favorably.
As a college student who lives in a small apartment but likes to work out while studying, I have gotten lots of use from my treadmill. It isn't the best treadmill on the market. But, I think it's worth the price! I use it for walking. If I were a serious runner this probably wouldn't be the best model.
For a treadmill that costs under $1,000, the Smooth 5.0 is really a good buy! I have found mine to be relatively sturdy. It runs smoothly and quietly, which is nice for those intense study sessions when I want to exercise but need to focus on my books. It also folds up to save space when I'm not using it. That frees up valuable space in my apartment. It's easy to change the speed and incline on the 5.0. The controls are found on the hand grips. The control panel is nice with the push-buttons. This treadmill comes with 3 preset programs and 6 user programs. Not bad for a small, inexpensive treadmill! And, it's not a bad ride! It has a fairly comfortable running/walking surface and is capable of handling even my boyfriend's 210 pounds. I think it's made in the United States, too! It seems to be a quality investment. And the warranties that cover the Smooth 5.0 treadmill are pretty decent. This treadmill doesn't have a lot of fancy features. But, I don't really have a need for a big, fancy treadmill, anyway. The Smooth 5.0 suits my needs just fine. I haven't had any problems with it, either, and I've had it for almost two months now!
