I'm in a rush so i'll give ya only the facts Jack/Jackie!
1. WHY?
Cuz i went from a size 7/8 to a size 11/12 in 1 yr! OH THE HUMANITY!
2. I enjoy all the bells & whistles it comes with. Its seems sturdy, it has the functions I was in search of. caloric count, distance, incline/decline, stability, compact/foldable + more. It also come w/ a tray for your waterbottle, 1 slot for your book or CD & another slot for anything else (I use it for my portable phone). It also has the emergency stop/power key which i do like a lot (deterrence:my 5 yo. niece in mind).
3 i looked around (like WebTurtle) for several products both in retail shops & on-line until i looked at runners world magazine & read an article on treadmill purchases. I saw smooth on the list & thought 'If these Jogging/Running fanatics like it...then I'll buy it!'
Delivery was a bit of a pain for me as well. I live in NYC & it was supposed to be delivered in 3-5 days. I recvd it 14 days after purchase date but also rvcd a treadmill matt from TreadmillsByNet as consolation.
For just under $1,000 this treadmill is answering my prayers everyday. No more laying around saying i cant get to the gym 'because'. Everyday its right in front of me & it motivates me to keep track of my goals.
I can also watch (tv) 'Friends' while on my new treadmill!
PS: it has not become my laundry clothesline...that in itself is a major accomplishment!
