| joe_berry's Full Review: Smooth 9.2 Series Treadmill |
I have done a lot of research looking for the right treadmill for my family and me. I have found out through my research that the most important factors for a good treadmill are:
stability, quietness, continuous motor horsepower, manufacturers warranty, and durability. Price range was an important factor for me. I thought it was going to be difficult though finding a treadmill with all of these features while staying within my price range.
I began to look locally. First, I went to the local department and sporting good stores. The treadmills there did not offer much in the way of quality, so I decided to go to some specialty fitness equipment stores. I saw four to five different treadmills I liked. They were high quality and very stable. I narrowed down my search to the True 500, the Landice L-7, Cybex 410, and the Life Fitness 9100, but they were all well out of my price range. The local dealers would not budge on the price, so I turned to the Internet to find a better deal. It turns out that you cannot buy these units online and the only place I could purchase it was at the local dealer at his price.
While online, I stumbled on a treadmill manufacturer called Smooth Fitness. I looked at there products and found a treadmill with features that were better than the treadmills that I saw locally, but at a lower price. I found out that their treadmills are sold factory direct and this cuts out the middleman markup. Their web site and sales staff were very informative and I learned a lot. They helped me choose the best treadmill for my needs. I was really interested in the Smooth 9.2 P. The only down side was that I could not try the unit out before I purchased it because Smooth Fitness does not have local dealers. I was informed of their 30-day money back guarantee and if I did not like it I could send it back for a full refund. How could I miss!
I bought the Smooth 9.2 P because of the 10-year warranty on the 3-horse power motor, the large running area. I could not believe how easy assembly was. I invested about 20 minutes and I was off and running. My wife and I love the handgrip controls and the adjustable preset programs. The stability on the 9.2 is incredible. I run at about 8 M.P.H. at a four percent incline, 30 minutes a day and the 9.2 is quiet and extremely stable. I also purchased the aeropedic belt option, which makes running on the 9.2 a dream compared to the others I have tried. The user-friendly features are great for walkers, as well as runners. Although computer graphics are very simple they serve their purpose, and are easy to read, but there is no running pace display. I guess I’ll figure it out on my own. The manual is a little weak, but all in all I have to say the 9.2 is an excellent value for the money. It has been two months now and I have not had a single problem.
