We love Sandra Boynton's books. We have the entire collection. My children love the goofiness of her story lines and I enjoy the silly playful nature of the characters and their relationships with one another.

While this is not our favorite Sandra Boynton book, it is still a great read. The story begins with a mom dog baking in the kitchen with her baby puppy. The mom begins to tell the puppy a story but it takes the form of a song.

The story guides you in the manner in which to sing the song but you have to make it up mostly on your own, which makes the book unique to each reader. I have heard different people read this story to my children and no two people have sung the song alike. Some do not even sing at all but the story is still a good one.

The song is a catchy little tune with sweet, easy to understand words. The song repeats one too many times for my liking but my children do not seem to mind it in the least. You are guided to sing one time very loud and another time very soft so it does break up the monotony of the words, if you feel it does get repetitive.

You get to end the book with a kiss, which is always a good way to end anything in my book!
