Pros: Excellent product and works! Excellent price.
Cons: None.
I've tried quite a few brands of probiotics (good bacteria) for my intestinal health. Mainly I do this for overall health and to keep Candida at bay (an overproduction of yeast) in the gut or an over production of bacteria (which can happen with say a stomach flu, etc.)Personally I do not barely ever get sick and if I do it's not for very long or severe. I attribute this to these probiotics. No need to buy the name brand $45 versions, this suffices!
I have never been totally impressed by any brand of probiotics. I think some don't fully make it through the journey to your stomach maybe because of the casings. Many are ineffective because there are only millions and not say billions of bacteria, which is what I'm looking for. A lot do not need to be refrigerated but I question that idea, because I find the good brands do need to be refrigerated like this Solary product does.
I am not totally familiar with Solaray this is the first time I have tried this company and I am very impressed. I have heard MANY good things about Solaray from my friends and I didn't realize it was also a great deal (price-wise).
This Multidophilus formula is freeze-dried and needs refridgeration. That may be difficult for you to remember to take them daily but not for me. Serving size is 1 capsule taken once day. Do not take with antibiotics (or within 2 hours of taking them). Take with a glass of water. This has 4.6 billion bacteria per capsule.
Probiotic blend:
DDS-1 Strain of L. Acidophilus (over 1 billion microorganisms)
L. Acidophilus (over 1 billion)
B. Bifidum (over 1 billion)
L. Bulgaricus (over 1 billion)
Now don't be scared of taking microorganisms, they already exist by the billions throughout our digestive system. This only helps the "good" ones sort of overpower the bad ones or keeps them in check.
My mom taught me as a kid the importance of acidophilus as she called it, so we would drink acidphilus milk as kids. This kept our intestines healthy and we didn't get sick often at all. Now when I get sick, I take probiotics or give some of these to my kids. Personally, I try to take daily forever. And at 12$ per bottle, I can't afford not to! They go down easy (in capsule form) and you taste nothing.
You can get off of: Vitacost.com or you can buy them at your local vitamin or discount supplement store.
A trick (if) you give to your kids (ask your doctor of course), but I will seperate the capsule and pour 1/3 of it or so into their juice and mix it up.
