Disappointed with its noise

Pros: Portable.

Cons: LOUD, heavy, expensive, only a 25 minute timer--not hours.

Just bought the Soleus Air portable air conditioning unit with heat pump from Home Depot for $599.00!

I am extremely disappointed with the noise it creates. With this unit on and the fan on high, I had to raise the volume on my television to near maximum! The majority of the noise comes from the compressor motor.

This unit is heavy--around 70 lbs.

This unit has a "swing" feature where its blades swing in a vertical motion. The swing range is only about 30 degrees, which doesn't do a very good job cooling a 300 sf room. Common sense tells me swinging the blades horizontally would cool the room much more quickly.

Overall, I am very disappointed with my purchase. For $600, I had expected a much better and quieter product. I would have been better off with central air or a window unit.
