Pros: Very sturdy, built to last. Pull up and dip exercises, real weight resistance.
Cons: Short bench and leg ext., a little difficult for a taller person, price.
The Bottom Line: It is sturdy, lasts a long time even after the warranty has ran out and it is the closest you are going to get to free weight bodybuilding results.

| elmatidor's Full Review: Soloflex |
I have the Soloflex and the Bowflex and I prefer the Soloflex. I first bought the Soloflex for about $1600.00 and you get everything all in one box, the dip bar, leg ext., resistance plates, etc. It does not take up a lot of room and although very heavy was easy to put together. Just one bolt and it is done!
Unlike the Bowflex which comes in numerous amounts of pieces and can take you about 1 to 2 hours to assemble.
On the Soloflex you can do a lot gym style exercises like you would use with a barbell and also you can do the exercises that use your own body weight like dips and pullups, the Bowflex doesn't offer those type of exercises which are what I think are the elite strength building exercises.
Also, the resistance on the Soloflex is much harder than on the Bowflex, fifty pounds on the Bowflex is like thirty pounds on the Soloflex. And the squat exercise let you adjust how wide you want your stance to be, but on the bowflex your limited to exactly shoulder with apart, if you are a larger person that is kind of difficult when you want to go up in resistance.
Some downsides about the Soloflex is that if your a taller person it is a little difficult to use the leg ext. it is short for a long legged person, plus you have to lean back on the seat or it will tip to the front. Second is the bench is short, for a taller person 6ft. and over you will have to adjust. But there are other exercises that you can do for the legs without the ext.
Changing exercises takes a little longer to do compared to the Bowflex. But as you get stronger and lift the attachments easier you'll find out it is not that much of a difference. It is still faster than changing plates at the gym and you don't have to worry about dropping a plate through the floor inside your house.
But the best advise I can give is to find a store or a person who has these machines so you can try them out in person before you make up your mind about buying one or the other.
