My profile is all updated so all of your reviews are there under the write off. I have not finished updating the reviews, but hopefully I will get to that tomorrow.
Thank you so much for all of your participation.
Take care,
Rae

Except for the Brel/Viand chapter and the Tour de France two, it is very, very literary -- mostly reviews of books about writers and reviews of various collections of Flaubert letters.

to me but with your not recommending it, I might stay away being I'm not as literary a person as you and I take your word for it..
:)
Thanks once again

Chabrol at home (Reply to this comment)

It does sound like he lives well -- also that he knows his ouevre is uneven.

Not quite all Flaubert all the time, but not Balzac, no Hugo, no Stendahl, etc.

Claude Chabrol's MADAM BOVARY is not my favorite movie of his, but I'd like to read Barnes' essay just to get a picture of the great director at rest (which is seldom). It is said that he lives well, in the best sense of the word.
Great run-down.
