Pros: Sonic Jihad is an incredible CD of ingenious sounds and vocals.
Cons: The CD could be longer, but it doesn't get boring if you replay it!
The Bottom Line: This a CD for every mood and situation. It is great for anyone who likes a mixture of pop, rock and metal. Go and buy it!!!

Even though Sonic Jihad is the first full CD from Snake River Conspiracy, it does not hold back any punches. It is a masterpiece, surprising considering that most bands' first CD's are drab and boring because they've just started out. Every song fits with the next, although no two songs are alike. The tempo, emotion and roughness of each song is like no other on the CD. There are harder songs like Strangled, Vulcan, Oh Well and Breed about anger and revenge, and there are songs like Act Your Age, More Than Love and You and Your Friend which are beautifully poppy without losing their greatness.
I bought this CD after first hearing their single Vulcan (search for 'SRC' if you want to buy it) which foreshadows the sound of Sonic Jihad. My only complaint about the CD is that I wish it was longer and had more tracks, it is irresistible!! Other great bands they sound like are Garbage (check out their self-titled album), perhaps a dash of Hole, and similar to My Ruin. Sonic Jihad is a great band fronted by the strong talented woman with an incredible voice, Tobey Torres, and backed up by the genius sounds of Jason Slater's creation.
So here's what you might be wondering:
1. Where are they from?
They formed a couple years back in San Francisco, California, after Jason was getting sick of wimpy girl figures in music like "that six pence none the richer [singer] and jewel".
2. What are their past experiences job-wise?
Jason is an ex-member of Third Eye Blind (SRC is nothing like them by the way!) He is also in a band called Brougham. Tobey sang in cover bands before this and has also worked as a 411 operator and stripper (note: check out the Vulcan video).
3. Are they on tour now?
Yes, they are opening for A Perfect Circle's U.S. tour dates right now. But they are at the end of the tour so I doubt you'd be able to get tickets unless you are willing to pay lots of money to a scalper :(
4. Is there any way I can get some more info about SRC?
