Pros:Don't need to brush hard, quadpacer, battery indicator, and clean feeling afterwards
Cons:Upper part of handle can retain water so make sure to clean it out
The Bottom Line: If your bristles turn outwards because you brush too hard or your dentist says your brushing is causing a receding gumline, get this brush!
I bought my Sonicare Elite 7500 new on Ebay, but I thought it was still a bit pricy for a toothbrush. I first heard about it through my dentist, she said she was using it and she loved it. Then a year later, my best friend who is in her second year in dental school said that buying a Sonicare toothbrush was the best thing you could do for your teeth as recommended by her professors and colleagues so we both bought it.

I am so glad I bought one because no regular toothbrush gives me the cleanliest feeling my Sonicare toothbrush gives me after brushing. When I was younger, some kids made fun of my teeth and ever since then I have been super self-conscious on how my teeth look. After using the Sonicare 7500 my friends and co-workers have all said my teeth look brighter and whiter. I know I haven't changed my toothpaste (Colgate Total...also recommended by my dental friend), so it must be the toothbrush.
The thing I love most about my Sonicare is that I don't have to brush hard. With regular toothbrushes even the OralB and Crest SpinBrushes, I would apply too much force that all my bristles would bend outwards. With this toothbrush it's really difficult to apply a lot of pressure on the toothbrush because it's already vibrating so much. The force is about 10x the regular Crest and OralB brushes they sell in the stores. My dentist has even commented how the receding of my gumline has stopped. Brushing with the Sonicare 7500 is like brushing with a new toothbrush everyday.
I also love the fact that the toothbrush has the quad pacer. That tells you to switch to a different region in your mouth (ie top front, top back, bottom front, bottom back). The fact that I don't have to waste money on batteries for my toothbrush since the Sonicare comes with a rechargeable battery is also a plus. The toothbrush head's bristles are curved to get in between your teeth and to clean the surface of a tooth. After brushing with the Sonicare 7500 I like to pass my tongue across the front and back of all my teeth and it feels like I just got my teeth cleaned by a hygienist. The noise of the Sonicare is less audible than the Cybersonic toothbrushes. My roommate has a Cybersonic toothbrush and he admits that my Sonicare is better designed and more effective.
The only thing I dislike about my Sonicare is that water gets collected on the inside part of the handle and if you don't detach your brush and dry it out or clean it out, it could start to smell or get hard water stains. Cleaning it out with vinegar fixes the problem.
If you're the type of person that likes to see your teeth while you're brushing, the vibration force of the brush will cause you to get speckles of toothpaste to fly on your mirror, so don't brush with your mouth open or with your lips not enclosed on the Sonicare toothbrush.
Some people complain that the brush head replacements are expensive. I think they are decently priced at about $20 for a pack of two. For the magic that the Sonicare produces I'd say it was well worth the money.
I say don't hesitate to buy one...as recommended by me, my dental friend, her husband, and my dentist.
