Pros:Your teeth feel cleaner than with a manual toothbrush.
Cons:Expensive to replace brushes, and yucky toothpaste residue accumulates inside.
The Bottom Line: We purchased it only because our dentist recommended.
My husband's dentist recommended the Sonicare to promote better dental health. My husband has very sensitive teeth and I was concerned that the vibrations would bother him. But surprisingly he loves the Sonicare and remarks about how clean his teeth feel compared to other toothbrushes. I also enjoy using the Sonicare and have the same results. The Smartimer is helpful and keeps you brushing for a lot longer than you normally would.

Replacement toothbrushes can be costly, and we've found that the brushes last longer than we thought. So this is good thing and saves us money. The charge also seems to hold for more than a week, so you can travel with it.
One thing I don't like is the way water and toothpaste drain into the holder and can leave a residue that you need to clean carefully. I've also noticed this when changing toothbrushes. So I'd recommend Sonicare look into this to improve their design.
I also find that when I set the toothbrush inside the charger, I must ensure it's set properly or it doesn't charge. If you're in a hurry, and just pop it down in the charger without getting a good connection, you'll find that it hasn't charged.
If you recharge your Sonicare frequently, it's important to have an electric outlet close to your sink. Many people don't have one they can spare, so this can be a problem and inconvenience.
