| cornpopz's Full Review: Level 9 Sound Designs MH-505 5 Speakers |
I haven't had much of a bad experience at all with this speaker set. Setup is very easy, just unwrap the speakers, and plug them in. The speakers are not labeled, but there are two flat-panels with long cords (those are the fronts), two flat-panels with *very* long cords (those are the backs), and one cube-like one with a removable base (the center speaker). Just plug in the speakers, plug in the control pod, and plug the 3 audio cables into the 3 jacks on your sound card (need a 5.1 sound card, of course).
The speakers do not take up very much space at all. They are only a few inches wide and a few inches deep due to their design. And the center channel speaker can be mounted either in front of your monitor (on its base), or on top of the monitor (with the base removed) to save space. The biggest piece is of course the subwoofer and its external power supply unit. The subwoofer is pretty big, but shouldn't interfere too much when placed under a desk if there's enough room. Just one thing to take note of: every piece in this speaker system comes with very, very long cables. I leave the power supply's cables tied up because it only has to go about a foot to the plug and then to the subwoofer. The front and rear speakers probably have at *least* 10ft. of cable, so you should be able to put these things anywhere.
About 2 months after I got the system, I went to turn the volume down as far as it could go, and then suddenly the speakers were at full blast. I contacted Sonigistix's support, and they told me that they would ship me a new control pod. And they seemed quite friendly.
