Pros: Exquisite and accurate sound, with a beautiful presentation.
Cons: No rear stands for speakers. More for the experienced audiophile than for loud sounds.
The Bottom Line: Honestly, these are the best speakers I've ever owned, maybe the most expensive, but the best. For those that enjoy intense music over volume, you can't get better sound accuracy.

I finally looked into buying new speakers after drooling over my fiance's Klipsch ProMedia V.2-400. At the time I had a pair of huge 10-watt, 20 pound speakers that had come with the purchase of my computer, which I would probably date at circa 1980's. The hideous sound of electronic shock they would make on raising the volume a tad bit past inaudible was enough to make me want to rush out and buy new speakers, and as long as I'm at it, why not the best of the best?
Now being the competitive type that I am, I had to compete with these monster of a sound speakers sitting right next to me in the computer room, you guessed it, the Klipsch ProMedia V.2-400. So here's what I had to find:
Something with Surround Sound.
Something that could possibly beat out the Klipsch at high volumes.
Something that could catch the frequencies of my music, and sound beautiful even at low volumes.
Something that would look cool.
Ok so I'm at that period in life where I have an indescribable affection for those new "thin" products that are coming out, and being that I travel constantly, I also need something that would fit conveniently in my suitcase. From what I read on the Monsoon speakers on online reviews (including the one already listed here on epinions), their major selling point was the ability to reach every frequency of sound, on both high and low levels. One major thing that bothered me about the Klipsch, was that when the volume was turned all the way up, the sound was barely even audible, except for an incessant booming noise. I know that most of the raging manhood I see in cars on the street enjoy the random, incessant, ear pounding, booming bass noise and will pay upwards of thousands of dollars to blast their ears out. I on the other hand, prefer to hear the words in my music, I'm more into the theatre-sound tear-jerking all-consuming sound of music. Well that's what the Monsoon's have given me.
Six months later, I'm still in love with these speakers. They're everything I could have wanted in a speaker and more. I use them for music, gaming, movies, and everything else under the sun. Most of the time I have to listen to them at night time after work when everyone's asleep, so they have to be at a low volume, and I still get the feeling of a theatre sound even at a before "barely audible" level. These speakers have followed me on a trip across country strapped into my truck, big bootie woofer sitting next to me in the passenger seat, and I have to say they sound even better than a high-end car stereo system. Not that I'm suggesting anyone put pc speakers in their car, but they sure sound good that way.
I'm an avid gamer, and particularly in the more intense games, when something's sneaking up behind me, I can almost feel it, the sound is so real. When using them with my dreamcast, the opening and ending scenes are so much more involving, as is the gameplay, with just this more consuming sound. I won't say these speakers are perfect, it's probably one of those love - hate relationship kind of things, I'm sure people that enjoy the "booming" type of music would not enjoy these as much as a wall to wall woofer. It all depends upon what you like, as is the case with every product. The woofer is a little bigger than I expected (no it won't fit in my suitcase), but the satellites look great with a flat panel monitor. These aren't really for the budget buyer, but well worth the money. I really do wish they had put on off button on the nice little puck/volume control that comes with it, because crawling under my desk to turn them off wasn't all that fun, though that was easily fixed with a separate surge protector for my speakers.
I can honestly say I have no complaints about the sound, but that's one of those "fit to taste" kind of things. They were really easy to setup, I've moved them so much I've had to re-position them at least 20 times. All it is is sticking the wires in their appropriate holes and there you go, the trick is finding the best place to put them for your ears.
