Pros: Automatically switches discs
Cons: Choppy MP3 playing
The Bottom Line: Would avoid if you can't avoid VBR encoded songs. Otherwise, this player is a bargain.

Like others here I too have trouble with MP3 choppiness, even when parked with the engine off. I have not had ANY other problems. All discs load fine, it only takes a few seconds to change discs, the wireless remote has a good "broadcaster" so you don't have to aim directly at the unit. Driving on a bumpy road does NOT make the player skip.
I tried the 4x recording speed for the MP3 CD but it didn't help. I thought the VBR was too high, so I lowered and and it had no effect. Figured the processer was getting too much data, causing an overflow condition (hence the pauses).
Finally, I tried encoding at a constant bit rate (CBR) instead of variable bit rate (VBR) and it sounds great. So, it appears that VBR is the trouble (even though the manual says it works). If you don't mind encoding in CBR instead of the better sounding/compression of VBR then I would recommend the player.
p.s. I too sent mine back for repair only to find it has the same flaw.
