This was my third Sony receiver and my first with DTS - I have been very happy with it. The only drawback is that it is a model before component hookups became popular - but that's not a complaint. I haven't missed them at all. The optical audio and S-Video inputs have performed well. More than enough 'other' connections - for my tv, gamecube, and vcr with two inputs to spare. Not a single hassle with this receiver. There are many Surround Sound fields to choose from, although in practical experience, I never use them. The DD and DTS 5.1 decoder Built in and The DTS sound is incredible and clearly the better choice over Dolby Digital. I dig the remote, and the power output is more than sufficient for me. Have never been able to turn it up past 5 (and even then it was god-awful loud!)
