| b12_fox's Full Review: Sony CDX-GT400 Car CD/ MP3 Player |
The last Sony cd/mp3 changer I bought was great. I decided to purchase another one, but was rather disappointed in the features it offered compared to the other model I bought (CDX-f5500).
The features that were lacking should have driven the price of the new unit down, but it was actually more expensive than the older unit! Features that were lacking were: Bass and Treble controls (you have to adjust "low" "mid" and "highs" instead...), a seven-band equalizer (now it is just three), and a "loud" setting. Despite lacking these features that the other model had, this stereo is still of high quality. Right away I noticed a difference in the music I was listening to compared to the Kenwood it replaced. I especially like the feature of adjusting the subwoofer volume from the deck. Overall, if you are not in to greatly customizing your music, I would recommend buying this new model. If you wanted more control over the sound of your music, I would recommend getting the CDX-5500.
I bought my CDX-GT400 from a seller on ebay, and it did NOT come with a case for the faceplate. Something to research if you wanted/needed a case...
