Ease of Use:
Pros:Good sound, feature rich, easy to navigate, changeable color & dimmer options
Cons:no user control to change default from HD to Analog
Nice unit, feature packed for the money. Good sound, feature rich, easy to navigate, changeable color & dimmer options, easy to read owners manual, but 1 glaring fault/oversight.

HD Radio receiver poor design by Sony. Long ANNOYING, silent/dead pauses are frequent when reception is boardering max HD range (25-30 miles typically). This silent/dead space lasts up to 15 seconds per episode as the receiver switches from HD to Analog! Many stations broadcast in both HD & Analog. Living 25 miles outside Pittsburgh, this makes for completely frustrating commute. There are times I don't need digital sound quality (talk shows, sporting events, music), and would rather have reception than not. That's not the case with this unit. It acts like an on/off light switch.
Why can't Sony have a user controlled option to select the receiver default as either Analog or HD?
> KENWOOD has a HD on/off button on the face of their HD Recievers!
Seems to me that Sony rushed this into production & didn't actually consider what most drivers will face in the US. Big disappointment.
Returned the sony, bought a Kennwood KDC-HD548U
Amount Paid (US$): 159
