| joeboxerr's Full Review: Sony CDX-L350 Car CD Player |
Well I bought one of these for my fiance's car this christmas, and while I think it's one of the more ugly cd players out there, her interior is silver, so it worked out ok anyway. At night it looks pretty good with the multiple colored buttons. The display has a nice high-tech look to it, even though it doesn't have many features. It has a mode that changes the stage from Centered, to +3 to the left, then +3 to the right, so this helps if your sound is coming from right beside you instead of being more centered. It also has a bass booster on top of the traditional bass level control that is a nice easy way to quickly adjust the bass level for certain songs. The detachable face is nice as well, although the detachment process is tricky to get used to. It's easy to get the face back on, however it has that "loose" feeling to it that is typical of cheap detachable faces.
It does have a nice power rating (50w x 4), and although you'd never see that much come out of a head unit realistically, it is higher than many others out there. The remote is VERY nice. It's the size of a credeit card and has intuitive control placement, allowing the driver (or passenger in the back seat for that matter) to control the stereo without having to take one's eyes off the road. Installation was easy, and it came with everything necessary, except extra fuses (oops). It rarely ever skips. The trim plate could use a more secure attachment method, but it's livable. If I had paid retail for this product, I would not recommend it. However I bought it from a Sony outlet as a refurbished unit for $70 with a one year warranty, so I can't really complain.
