The Bottom Line: I found that the Cradle and the flimsy covering were the least of my concerns as a CON.

I had been researching PDA's in the price range of $300 or less (Canadian). This is by far the best bang for your buck and probably the smartest purchase you'll ever make.
If you want a PDA that can do all the fancy things such as remote access into your server, Excel / Powerpoint / Word processor, then you're looking at the wrong product. There might be addons for these features but nothing can be found on the Sony discs or web site to support these new applications.
This baby is great for simplicty use and to organize your life without the hassels of a paper organizer the size of a binder.
Pros...
This PDA comes with the advantages of memory expansion up to 128MB using the memory stick. Storing MP3's, pictures or archived crap it can come in very handy at times. Keep in mind that running applications from the Memory Stick (MS) is not a possibility.
Jog Dialer. The only PDA with a jog dialer for under $300.
Enough said.. Use it as a convenience. Most people complain it's in the way. I think those people are out to lunch. Who can complain with extra features!
Palm OS 4.0 - This PDA comes with the latest Palm OS. Compare it with the Visor, Palm Pilots or any other PDA under $300 and this one's the ONE! Why pay $300 for an older OS?
Cons...
My biggest problem thus far is the leather covering... Very flimsy and is only held on by 2 small plastic anchors. It has already popped off on me several times. You almost feel like you'll break it, trying to put it back on.
Cradle. As this PDA is a portable device why the need for a cradle. All about looks and the ability to Sync and re-charge at the same time. It's a portable device people! using 2 seperate connections is a minor inconvenience. Some may say that the ability to do only one thing at a time is a hassle.. While the PDA only takes 3 hours to recharge, it lasts for 15 days! A missing cradle in this package is a con because of personal prefference. But keep in mind "It's a portable device!"
This was by far the best buy for a first time PDA owner. Plus when compared with all the other products out there this one is in a league of it's own.
For a PDA in the "Up to.." $300 this is the best buy out there!
