Since the palmone software is mostly the same on all PDA's, I will review only the characteristics unique to the SONY CLIE SJ22.
WHY I GOT A SECOND PDA REPLACEMENT:
I got this PDA to replace my Palm Zire 31. I only the Sony Clie SJ22 because I stumbled on a great deal on a used one for $35. I took a gamble that the reason it wasn't working was because it needed a new battery. After picking one up from ebay and popping it into the Clie, it lit up and worked as it was supposed to. I woulldn't spend the retail $200+ for this thing. Sony stuff is always overpriced.
DESIGN:
The design on this thing isn't the greatest. It looks bulky, but it's actually smaller than my old Palm Zire 31. The screen is larger too! Big plus.
WHAT IMPRESSED ME:
- Large screen
- Quality of the graphics is great. It surpasses my previous PDA by far. The text is all very clear. Images are great too!
EXTRA FUNCTIONS:
- Cool scroll bar thingy that allows users to scroll down a line of text without having to use the stylus. This is a plus.
THE DOWNSIDE:
- Sony is famous for making life difficult. Normal memory cards don't fit into this gizmo. In order to charge the thing and connect it to your computer, you'll need an adapter. Mine came with it, but it's still a pain in the butt to not be able to plug it straight in.
- The stylus is too tiny. If your hands are even slightly larger than that of a 3 yr old, you may have the same trouble I had of gripping onto the thing. You get used to it, but you wonder why Sony just didn't make it larger. It's not like they didn't have room on their thick PDA called the SJ22.
