Pros: compact, modern, sleek, all latest techs, great sound
Cons: 600 watts total ,Subwoofer almost nonexistant
The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a sleek, good looking system, that gives you all the latest perks don't look any further. The one downside could be the passive subwoofer

| pc_rulles's Full Review: Sony DAV-C900 Theater System |
Being a sony fan, I was happy to see this system at a price I could afford. This system is neat, simple, easy-to-install (except the rear speaker wire, which, in order to run, as with most surround sound systems, you may have to drill holes in your floor or put the wires under your carpet),looks fantastic.Installation was the easiest I have ever done, thanks to Sony's making all connections color-coded. Most of my friends comment favorable on the speaker stands and sleek look.
DVD playback is excellent as far as I can tell (though changing disks is not as fast I'd like)-unfortunatelly you can't put in 5 DVD movies (like a boxed set) and have them auto-play. This is more of a media/menu navigation problem, but even so -- it's just not very "Dream"-like
The speaker system features a combined 500 watts of power between the 5 floor standing surround sound speakers. A 100-watt subwoofer rounds out the package. The remote is well laid out and I particularly like the arrangement of the main functions right on the top edge.
Where this unit fails is in the ability to handle massive sound output as required for big action movies ,where the Subwoofer cannot handle some of the demanding bass .
