duckied's Full Review: Sony Handycam DCR-TRV340 Digital-8 Camcorder
Recently I have been looking for digital camcorders for my new computer. Also, I was looking for a newer replacement for my older Sony camcorder. I searched around online and chose the brand Sony because I trust their products. I bought the digital camcorder for about $700 at the store Best Buy. I also bought the four year protection plan which comes in handy. The camera has features like Nightshot, Super Nightshot, Firewire, USB, a memory stick port, up to 10 hours of battery life and a picture taking mode.
For accessories, I bought a black leather-like camcorder bag. It has many spots for holding extra batteries, memory sticks and USB cords. I also bought a two hour battery. The camcorder comes with a rechargable battery. Also, I bought a 64 MB memory stick. It can hold 655 pictures and 11 minutes of video.
I suggest the four year protection plan to all buyers. For my old Sony camcorder, I have a five year warrenty which is due next year! The old Sony was looking fuzzy and did not work a few times, so we took it to the store and got it fixed for free instead of paying $80 to $100. I already got my new digital camcorder cleaned for (for free) with the protection plan.
One feature I do not like about the Sony DCR-TRV340 is that the lenscap doesn't stay on that well. But, I don't worry about it much.
