Pros: Lot's of features. Can playback existing Hi8 recordings.

Cons: Noisy. Mediocre picture quality.

The Bottom Line: Not worth the money.

Unfortunately I don't have a lot to say about this camcorder. I took it out of the box. Powered it up using the AC power supply. Started recording. Played-back the recording. Heard slight motor noise in the recording. Noticed that picture quality was not great.

This was all I needed to pack it up and take it back to the store. For $500.00 I expect better. I'm going to try a Mini DV unit. Sadly there isn't many Digital 8 camcorders out there, so I'll need to keep my old Hi8 recorder for the sole purpose of playing-back my old Hi8 tapes. Too bad!
