Pros: Tiny camera, quick turn on and picture taking, extremely portable
Cons: Blurry pics if not careful, not super easy to charge/move pictures to computer
The Bottom Line: If you want an easy to use, portable, fast camera, (have a steady hand!), but do not need all the doodads available today, this is a very good option.

| rookshark's Full Review: Sony DSC-T7 Digital Camera |
I may be as sophisticated as Gomer Pyle when it comes to knowing how to get everything out of the modern digital camera. I previously purchased a Sony DSC-V1, which had features out the ying-yang, and I tapped as many of those as I could with some success.
When I saw this slim camera available on eBay, I took a stab at having a camera that would be easier to carry in my pocket, like my cell phone, but take better pictures than my cell phone, with nice features such as a Carl Zeiss lens, magnifying feature for close up images, etc.
Surprises abounded for me.
Good surprise: how fast the camera took pictures. To turn this puppy on, simply slide down the cover on the front, and almost instantaneously you are ready to go. Additionally, my previous cameras had quite a lag between pictures, and forget about using flash and taking another picture anytime soon. This camera for me was a huge improvement on all fronts. Very nice for capturing things on the spur of the moment.
Bad surprise: When taking those spur of the moment pictures, be sure to hold the camera steady
.very steady, lest you get a blurry spur. Great pictures if you do it right, but if you are not on top of things, you will never get a good picture.
Good surprise: This thing fits is so small it fits in my cell phone case, yet the screen is nice and large for previewing your pictures. The size is not to be underrated, as it opens the door to pictures that before one would have missed or simply not thought to take.
Bad surprise: This thing is so small that you can not charge the battery without taking it out of the camera. Same for looking at your pictures on the computer
you have to take the memory stick pro out, and get an adapter (in my case to use the existing memory stick reader in my computer) or a reader for the memory stick pro to get things going.
Good surprise: If you carry this in your pocket and the cover accidentally gets moved down to turn the camera on, it auto shuts off after a few minutes of non-use so as to not drain the battery. Not to mention that carrying it in your pocket and banging it around proves not to break the camera, as one might assume it is fragile being so thin, but it does feel substantial in your hands.
If you are looking for a camera that has all the bells and whistles, this is not that camera, but I found this one does almost everything I needed in the past, just no effective shots in total darkness, or changing the aperture for low light shots, but those shots were pictures that were difficult to manage with my V1 sometimes, so it was not a big loss to me.
Overall the minor annoyances this camera brings are far outweighed by the advantages brought to the table (size, quick start up/picture taking speed, quality of well taken pictures). For a similar price (keep in mind I paid $200 for this camera, far below retail) I would hope to upgrade to a similar model with a more stable shot at some point in the future, but for now am extremely happy to have purchased this camera, continuing my record of upgrading to better Sony cameras, falling backwards into them rather than knowing what I am doing ahead of time. Similar to Gomer Pyle somehow I am sure.
