I bought the DF-411 as a replacement for a Kenwood player I've had for three years. I found that the sound quality was poor, even with three levels of bass boost. The mid level produces minimal bass and the high level sounds terrible even with high quality headphones.
The player skipped even when walking slowly.
The radio gets poor reception in most areas.
Overall you can probably get the same sound quality in a player that costs half as much.
You'd be better off buying a separate CD player and portable radio for the money. I was really surprised at the poor quality coming from Sony.
In the end I had my Kenwood repaired!
