| donnieungaro's Full Review: Sony STR-DE685 5.1 Channels Receiver |
With a new widescreen and progressive scan DVD player just purchased, a new receiver was needed to power it all. This Sony receiver is awesome, it has many inputs, its easy to use and has the killer benefit of the pre-programed Sony theatre modes that adjust and change with the push of one button.
The remote was intimidating at first, but once I read the manual, yes I am a guy and I actually read the manual! It was easy to use and gave me the codes to run most of my system, so I could get rid of some remotes and confusion.
This receiver just pounds. I only go to 40 decible on it and it has alot more room to go. The digital decoder works great and there is the blue light to show the multi channel decoder is working, which also looks very impressive and high tech to others.
Don't waste your money with other receivers, this is the best I have had, its far better than my Kenwood receiver (has digital decoder and give more watts to rear channels).
A great buy!
