| jyoun79's Full Review: Sony Ericsson KF-788 Cell Phone |
I got this phone almost a year ago in May 1999. Right now, PacBell probably offers it for free with a new contract. With a fully charged battery, it will probably go about 2 1/2 days. It's really small, one of the smallest phones Pac Bell offers, and it fits right in your pocket. However, the reception on it is lousy compared to other phones. I don't get any reception when I'm in my apartment, whereas my roommates' phones, (Nokia 6190 and Motorolla Timeport) do. The 6190 and Timeport are pretty similar phones and better than the Ericson. The Ericson is getting old and even thought it's free, the Timeport and 6190 blow it away. It competed with the 5190 last year in terms of pricing, battery time, reception, etc... So it can't really compare to the 6190 and Timeport. If you're on a tight budget, it's a pretty reliable phone but I would shell out the extra 50 bucks or so for the 6190 or the Timeport. I also had to get it replaced once because it kept turning off after a while. I have a few friends who had the same problem.
