| toldyouso's Full Review: Sony Ericsson R289LX Cell Phone |
Design is not special. The phone is extremely hard to plug in or out of adapter. It has a faint raised tiny "lightning rod" shape on top of square power plug to indicate which direction square plug gets plugged into body of phone. My elderly parents can't see it at all and it is very difficult for them to use it. It is also hard to even disconnect it from the plug. It has to be lifted and pulled at a weird angle. My main problem with this phone is that it DOES NOT WORK! My first Erickson came free with the 2 year contract. One month after my one year warranty expired the LED display was invisible. The horrible reception has an electronic sound or just fades out while talking. In the city - anywhere! The salesman's story when I went to get a repair ($175. quote) or a new phone, was that I should stick with Erickson because the newer models were made by Sony and were better. I was a sucker! I am having the same sound problem with the new one a week later. I would pay double for any other brand to avoid this phone. It feels good to have this outlet. I hope other people tell the truth about this phone because I was standing in the repair line with plenty of them! Who on earth is writing the good reviews?
