| karentonyjake's Full Review: Sony Ericsson T19LX Cell Phone |
Something happened to me along the way to the perfect cell phone forum... It's turned out that every Ericsson phone I've used has far exceeded my expectations. That includes the R-289LX (despite its bulkiness), the T28 (despite it having no analog roaming capability and no internet browser), and now the T19LX. Why? It's simple. Ericsson phones hold a signal better than any other phone I've used, especially in remote, rural locations. Additionally, Ericsson's voice clarity is exceptional -- literally, as good as a landline.
So why do so many people disparage Ericsson cellular products? Rumor has it that their customer service needs some work. Get crackin', Ericsson!
The T19LX doesn't possess all of the bells and whistles of its GSM counterparts. As a matter of fact, most may find this phone "frill-less". There's no internet browser, no voice-activated dialing, and no PIM capability. It does, however, have an improved menu system, 2-way text messaging, vibration alert, and a 250 name/number phone book. Where it really shines is where it's suppose to -- clarity and reception. Really. My reception has been ideal, especially in areas where AT&T's reception has been historically weak. The clarity is crystal.
When AT&T transitions fully to GSM/GPRS later this year/early next year, the T19LX's GSM counterparts, I'm sure, will become available. This means that all of the features the T19 is missing will be made available in other Ericsson models. For a phone that cost me $50, I'm impressed. My favorite phones have included the LGIC LG-TM510 (Verizon), the Sanyo SCP-4500 (Sprint PCS), and every Ericsson (AT&T and Voicestream) phone I've used. The T19LX spells quality, in a small, ergonomic package w/o the frills.
