Pros: Hard drive storage, easy to use with minimal adjustments
Cons: none within a 3 week review period
The Bottom Line: The hard drive feature is what sets this apart. That would be my deciding factor on buying this camera.

| mooresites's Full Review: Sony Handycam® DCR-SR100 Camcorder |
Let me start this review by saying that I am using this camera as a loaner from my father-in-law. However, I have several hours of use.
This camera does so much right, I can't even acknowledge anything that bugs me! I've used an old Hi8 Sony for years, then bought a Canon SD300 and found that it's video surpassed the Hi8 easily.
We went to Disney World earlier this month, so I knew that space on the digital camera would run low. I borrowed my father-in-law's SR100 and am glad I did.
I used the camera for 3 days (as did he) and not one setting had to be tweaked to get enjoyable quality video. The low-light situations probably weren't the best possible, but I believe a higher price point would be in order for that - they were acceptable, however.
I think the best part of the whole package is the fact that I simply plug the camera in to my XP machine, then transfer the files. They then load easily into Premiere Elements software for editing. It's that simple.
I used the medium quality settings and was satisfied with the picture quality. It just gets better from there.
Sony got this one right (as usual).
