Pros: Useful features, very readable, display adjusts to light levels
Cons: Beefy size, small buttons, display may seem bright to some people
The Bottom Line: Buy it if you want: a large and clear display, to go to sleep or wake to CD music, and to play your own home-made CD music collection.

This is a very sharp little machine. It does everything that it claims to do, and it does it all well. My partner and I use the sleep feature all the time; whenever one of us is having trouble going to sleep, we just turn on the CD music for a set number of minutes in order to relax. I burned a collection of soothing Enya songs onto a CD-R just for this purpose. (It's this machine's ability to read CD-Rs that makes it really stand out, although I suspect that many other CD player units can do so as well.) My only gripe: the lowest illumination setting on the display is still brighter than I would prefer (I like my bedroom to be completely dark). Otherwise, it's everything that I wanted.
