Pros: Great for 18 months.
Cons: Useless after 18 months. (Will update once I know my repair costs.)
I bought my Sony Bravia KDL-32XBR4 in November 2007, and was happy with it until this month, when colored vertical lines began appearing whenever the set was turned on, blotting out the entire screen. At first they'd disappear after a few minutes, but then they morphed into a permanent distortion that covers the right-hand quarter of the screen, and now seems to be getting worse by the day. Sony has been unwilling to help, beyond suggesting that I unplug and replug the TV, and reset to factory settings. (None of these helped, BTW.) Judging from Internet complaints, I'm far from the only Bravia owner to have experienced this problem.
Bottom line: Great set for 18 months. But if you'd like a $1,000 piece of equipment that's usable after, say, two years, consider going with a different manufacturer.
