Pros: Great Price, Very good sound quality, Never falls off, Strong, Durable.
Cons: Bass isn't to strong.
The Bottom Line: Great Headphones for the price, good for balanced out sounds, too much bass makes it sound muddy. Great overall.

| buttnhead's Full Review: Sony MDR-A44L Consumer Headphones |
My mother had given me an older version of these headphones in Christmas of 1998 (MDR-A30G) and the sound quality was very good, eventually, those headphones got old and I decided to buy a new pair that were just like the MDR-A30G's. I found the MDR-A44L's in my local Wiz and decided to buy them. The sound quality was even better than the MDR-A30G's.
So far, I've only used these headphones with my cd player while I'm in school trying to help the times pass while my teachers bore me or at home listening to mp3's. They also work very when I play my Playstation 2 late at night. I tryed jogging once with these and they weren't too bad. They slipped out of my ears only once. These headphones provide a rich sound, but the bass isn't too strong. If you slighty increase the bass on your equalizer, it gets very muddy, so if you want headphones with very a very strong bass, look elsewhere.
I don't know why other reviewers have given these headphones such a poor score because I find the sound quality far better than other headphones. Since the small buds are held in your ear by the headband, the sound is directly in your ears and are very clear, I've found no background distortion at all. The foldable design is very nice and you can hold it in the palm of your hands. The power of these are pretty good and give u nice sound when you are using sound sources with a fixed sound level, like a Playstation 2 or TV. I've found these headphones very reliable and once I even dropped in in water and it still works flawlessly. I recommend these headphones to whoever likes clear sound balanced sound. If you want strong bass, these headphones aren't for you.
