Pros: Great sound,nice design,reasonable price.
Cons: None that I've found.
I wanted to buy a new stereo system that had a CD changer which I could play more than one CD at a time. I could only play one CD in my old stereo.I also wanted a stereo with great sound. So off to Wal-Mart I went. I had a Sony already and still have it. I use it in my bedroom.I decided I wanted to stick with the Sony brand. The old Sony is 10yrs old and still in great shape.
I arrived at Wal-Mart with thought's of stereo's dancing in my head as I made my way to the electronic's department.I looked at all the name brand stereo systems to be on the safe side. I ended up focusing on the Sony brand. I looked at all the Sony models and settled on the Sony MHC-GX33 CD Shelf System.
The Sony MHC-GX33stereo system is very stylish looking. The stereo itself is silver & black, the body being black & the front is silver. This Sony is a 3 disc changer/dual tape deck and radio. The Sony also comes with a remote control. You can do just about anything using the remote.
Set sleep timer
Change surround sound
I really don't use the remote, but it will come in handy if I get really sick and can't move,or my back goes out, then the remote will become my best friend.
Onto the speakers. I love good sounding speakers, there is nothing worse than speakers that sound like Tin..
The speakers are a pretty good size. I Don't have the measurements at hand, they are however not really small speakers. I don't care for small speakers. The speakers are encased in a black body with a silver front. There are 2 speakers & a sub woofer.
SPEAKERS (North American Models)
Woofer:13cm. cone type
Sub woofer: 13cm. cone type
Tweeter: 5cm.cone type
Nominal impendence 6ohms
With my shopping trip over,I could'nt wait to get home and rip the box open and set up my new Sony MHC-GX33.
The stereo comes with an instruction booklet, with all the information to hook the stereo up and, how to operate it. I had no problem hooking mine up. I had it up & running in a 1/2 hour. There are many features the Sony offers.
.Clock/sleep timer/wake to music
.Create your own programs
.Preset radio stations
.Record CD tracks on a tape
.Record on tape manually
.Select sound affects, Rock,Pop,Movie, game.
.Timer recording radio programs
.Game input video jack
I haven't tried all the features yet. I have used the sleep timer. I set the system to turn off at a certain time, because I like to fall asleep with the radio.I did try the waking to music feature,it was nice & I use the clock feature, though I hate re-setting the clock,in the area I live in, we get a lot of flash power outages,so it's not worth using these 2 features. I have not tried the game feature as I don't own one. I really like the way the lights on the face of the stereo light up while the music is playing,it's cool. The main on/off button light stays on as well as the clock light, while in the off postion.
The Sony MHC-GX33has really good sound quaility and, is crystal clear.I really like the bass on it & on occasion really get to crank up my stereo!(well I do when my landlady in not home)The reception on the radio is really good,I haven't had much interference on it.I'm really happy with my Sony and I've had it almost a year.
