ithoughtnot's Full Review: Sony Net MD Walkman MZ-N505 Personal MiniDisc Play...
After a long time, I got tired of carrying those cumbersome CD holders. I also must admit to being clumsy and scratching a healthy amount of my music. I had to find a solution.
I went to Sony to look around for anything, open wallet for anything worth it. I saw mp3 players, but at the time they didnt have 40g balls of technology. I didnt seem to impressed with mp3's at the time. I walked out of that store a happy man.
My new sony MiniDisc player was awesome! I loved it. The new feeling of a new toy can bring out the best of us. Hours of music on this tiny Disc.( By the way, it not a real "disc" as if you were thinking of a mini cd. It is the same thing but with a protective and "skip-free" casing)
Anyway, here are some of the good ( and bads!)-
Battery use: The gadget uses one AA battery. (very nice) My player on average had to have the battery placed about once every three weeks. I used it in school and used it fairly often. This thing uses almost no battery. Media: The Discs are small, ( and easy to lose). But as always, the more you stuff you have crammed on this disc, the more your John Mayer will sound like Nirvana. If you have music, i mean alot of music, you will tend to have a ridiculous amount of discs with you!
Software: The MiniDisc comes with two handy features for your computer- NetMD Simple burner and OpenMG Jukebox. The Burner if for putting you CDs to Disc. Very Simple and easy. and the OpenMG Jukebox if for managing and also putting your music to Disc. all the Software is easy to use and very, very simple to use.
Portability: The overall player is rather small and equally balanced in your hand. The only real problem is that after some time of use, my button to change songs went horrible. I would push to go to the next song, and it would go bach three songs! Well i guess with use, these things happen but something has to be done Sony!
Overall: This thing is a great buy and totally worth your money. If CD's are falling through the floor and mp3 sounds like a some new brand of cereal, the MiniDisc is for YOU!
