Pros: Lots of levels, charming movie clips, very engaging
Cons: May be easier for 8 and up instead of the suggested 6 and up crowd
The Bottom Line: This game is entertaining, easy to follow, and offers superior sounds and graphics with minimal violence and engaging movie clips between levels. Definately worth the money.
amisoo's Full Review: Disney's Peter Pan Return To Neverland for PlaySta...
We rented this game for our 7 year old daughter to play. The beginning of the game shows Peter and Tinker Bell trying to find something to do. Tinker Bell suggests they go on a treasure hunt. The first level is very descriptive about how to fly, gather feathers, and search of items. Since there are 5 different "areas", the 20 levels take the player through each of those 5 areas so they are familiar to the player later in the game, making it easier to get through the levels since there is a degree of familiarity. There are secret places to be found and each level requires the player to not only search for feathers (used to buy important items like health, pixie dust, and tips in the Indian Shop)but to look for the secret areas because there are bonus feathers, life, and even Lost Boys to be freed from cages. In the Indian Shop, you can view different movie clips once you have obtained movie reels from various levels. In between each level, there is a clip with Peter, Tinker Bell, Mermaids, and Pirates. Pay close attention to what is being said. There may be tips in what the characters say! Another nice advantage to this game is that once you finish a level, you can go back and play it again. The advantage of this is that each level "resets" itself, replacing found feather and health boosts. This way, you don't have to spend all of your feathers at the Indian Shop and can set up for a more successful attempt at a harder level with maximum life and pixie dust.
The only things I didn't like about this game were that it was still difficult and frustrating for my 7 year old daughter. There are some timed levels and some where Tinker Bell cannot touch the ceiling or ground. They are rather difficult even for adults. Another problem we had with this game was that is it slow to load between levels. Several times it was so slow that my daughter lost interest.
Overall, I think this was by far one of the best games we have gotten and is enjoyable for both children and adults. It is a game that will not be easily won, but engaging enough to keep it out of the drawer gathering dust like so many other games.
