fantasticx's Full Review: Time Crisis for PlayStation 1
This was actually one of the first games I bought for my Playstation and I'm glad it was. It's a game that always seems fresh when you pull it out again. Of course, it doesn't hurt that it's one of the only games on the PS that will support the Guncon (an awesome product in itself).
You see, the draw of Time Crisis is that it's set up like a normal gun game, except you are on a time limit. This certainly makes things more challenging, because not only do you have to avoid gunfire, but you have to keep one eye on the clock to make sure you're going to make it. Another interesting feature the game implements is the duck feature. To avoid the aforementioned gunfire, you can duck behind crates and other objects by either holding the red button on the side of the Guncon or stepping on your controller. Unfortunately, holding the red button down will hurt your arm after only a short amount of time because you have to hold the gun up with both hands. But this is only a minor complaint.
If you've played the arcade version, you won't be tired with the home version because it packs a completely new game on the side. It offers just as much challenge as the original (though not quite as fun).
The graphics are respectable, if not dated by today's standards. Still, the game is definitely worth a look. While you're at it, pick up Point Blank as well. It's the perfect complement for a night of action packed gun gaming.
