Pros: Good looking, has TV stations and weather band
Cons: Heavier than I imagined and uncomfortable to wear
The Bottom Line: Sony is a great company, but I think they've focused a little more on style than comfort with these. If comfort is important to you, I'd look elsewhere.

| chris1514's Full Review: Sony Walkman SRF-HM01V AM/FM/Weather/TV Radio |
The S2 Street Style headphones are good looking and have some great features like TV sound and a weather band. I've never had a pair of the over-the-head headphones, but I'm sure this behind-the-head model is far less cumbersome. The idea of having the entire unit with the tuner in the headset is great, since there are no dangling straps or wires. They seem to stay on the head pretty well, although I haven't used them for any strenuous activity. I also like the fact that it only uses one AAA battery.
On the negative side, I'm surprised that a company like Sony has produced something so uncomfortable to wear. I'm starting to get used to them, but if you're used to lightweight headphones, the S2 is going to come as a shock. I guess they can't be faulted for being heavy, since the headset does include the weight of the entire unit, but if you want something lightweight around your head while you work out, I'd recommend one of those units you strap around your arm. You will have the weight of it on your arm and a dangling wire, but that's the trade-off.
The earphones themselves have thin rubber pads on them, but Sony should have made the padding thicker since what you really feel is the hard, cold plastic underneath. On a scale of 1 to 10 for comfort, I'd give it a 4. Also, because the unit is on your head, when you change channels or bands, you have to take the headphones off to do it. I don't really feel that they fit the shape of my ears very well either.
Radio reception is something that really depends on local conditions, but I can say that 10 miles north of Boston where I live the FM reception can be spotty, and on the TV band I can only get the local ABC station to come in clearly. Reception on the weather band is zero.
Finally, at nearly $60 (I got a refurbished one on eBay for $30) these things are more expensive than other Walkman radios.
