The Bottom Line: For small applications. Great sound but not enough output for large listening areas.

| pioneernfinity's Full Review: Sony SA-VAD900 Theater System |
Anyone can live with these. A versatile speaker system great on music a little laid back for high impact theater but gets the job done. I've owned much louder, expensive speakers that didn't bring the enjoyment these speakers have to me. Good for your bedroom at night definitely. Exceptional quality and detail with no harshness or edgyness. Thanks to it's ability to roll off extreme high end shreeks and imperfections it breezes through without calling attention. What makes it great makes it pack less punch in terms of impact but every detail is heard even in the deep bass department though it won't shake your walls if the sound is there it will be heard. Big rooms with high ceilings and hard wood floors will make them sound puny as they kind of are. A wopping 25 watts. The drivers are so tiny it's amazing the frequency's are all covered and how well. Your biggest mid is 3.5" in the left/right spkrs. Your center /surrounds have dual 2"-2.5" mids I didnt take measurements. All with 3/4" tweeters. The 8" deep bass driver is astounding for the size, virtually amazing. The woofer puts out alot of tight deep sound and doesn't seem to be driven at all when you remove the grill. The soundstage is larger than I get from bigger speaker systems. The sound doesn't give away the speakers location. The cabinets aren't small as they could be but they blend nicely to where they don't look messy or be an eye sore. Overall, I have found them enjoyable for many years. Simple and easy to operate. Not a powerful enough system for large rooms as I mentioned. The quality of the cd/dvd changer has given me trouble. I have trouble with controls. On mine, I press volume up and sometimes it switches sources, etc etc. Speakers, amp, and drivers still work just fine. If you lose the remote you have lost all access to any type of manual adjustments(treble, bass, surround mode, sound level to each speaker and more). These things shouldnt have been overlooked.
