Pros: all in one system.
Cons: a bit big, sound quality not too good.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this system to anyone who likes a "clean" look, without all these components lying around.

Why the SAVAD900?
I was in the market for a audio system and dvd player for my room. Since i have access to the Sony employee store, i began looking for a system from Sony. Sony makes alot of different kinds of audio systems. The systems that caught my eye were the "Dream Systems" from Sony. I like the silver color, but the only reason that i did not buy a dream system was because the dvd player was separate. Since this system was going to be used in my room, I thought that the SAVAD900 would be better, since a 5-disc DVD player is built right into the left speaker. Also, a subwoofer is built into the right speaker. Although the two standing speakers are pretty big and heavy (esp. the left side speaker), it provides adequate sound and looks clean (since everything is built in). The satellites (there are 3 of them) can go anywhere in the room, since the wires included with the system are plenty long.
My Impression
I've had this system for about 4 months now, and I am pleased with it. It supports dolby digital and DTS, and it is REALLY loud. The sound quality is OK compared to my all Bose sound system in my entertainment room. But even though it does not compare to Bose, it still has very good sound. Only complaint is that the DVD player does NOT have component out, only composite and S-video. In addition, it has no CDR/RW support. Other features i like about this system is that it has a built in tuner, great for listening to the radio.
Recommendation
I would recommend this system to anyone who likes a "clean" look, without all these components lying around. It's pretty big, so i wouldn't recommend it if you do not have a big room. Otherwise, it's a great system. I paid $660 for this system at the Sony employee store, you should be able to get this system online for around $800.
