An underperforming radio, not worth the high price.

Product Rating:
Pros: Good for gym or running, clock.
Cons: Horrible reception, analog dial for volume
The Bottom Line: If the reception, volume knob, and a tuning features were improved, this radio might be worth it. As it stands, I would avoid this radio at all costs.
doctors4bob's Full Review: Sony Walkman SRF-M78 AM/FM Radio
This radio is part of Sony's "sports" branding, with yellow case and headphones. The case is ergonomic and comfortable in your hand. The digital display features a clock, although you can't see what time it is while the radio is ON (only when OFF).
The headphones are decent and since I don't use the radio anymore (see below), they are fine for computer use. I would recommend more comfortable "behind-the-head" headphones for workout and running.
I have used this radio for about a year now. I live in Norther NJ and commute to New York City. I could (literally) be standing next to the Empire State Building and still lose reception on the mega-watt FM bands, never mind AM stations.
The tuning mechanism and radio presets aren't that bad. A scan feature would be nice, especially when jogging. The strap functions well enough for serious workout use.
While the presets and the tuning are digital, the analog volume dial can mistakenly go to from a comfortable listening level to HIGH at any time and blow your eardrums out. Digital volume is essential for sports use.
