| ldrewc's Full Review: Sony SS-MF600H Speaker |
Overal I am pleased with my Sonys. They perform very well with home theater, no sub required. The sound with music is true to the price class. They can be very bass heavy with some music, light with others. I guess it is dependant on where the frequency in the music lies. With a few songs they sound just right. The bass seems best in the 40hz to 80hz range. If you have room in your house, but not much in your budget these are a good buy. The two 8 inch drivers in each cabinet make plenty of thunderous bass for movies, and rap music. I don't know what they did to the tweeters but you will have to turn the treble down or they will tear your ears off(there is no built in treble control, you will have to use your own EQ or adjust your receiver). My ears have been spoiled by Magnepan's. I guess after those it will hard not to over critique other lower cost speakers.
Price paid is per pair.
