Pros: Was great when it worked.

Cons: 90-day Warranty. High price, low quality.

The Bottom Line: Save yourself money and stay away from this product and all other Sony products.

Do yourself a favor and stay way from ALL Sony products. I have been a loyal Sony customer for years and thought I was buying a quality product each time; however, the last two Sony products that I purchased have failed. It’s obvious they are scarifying quality to save themselves money. My advise to you is to look at the warranty of any product you buy. If it says it’s only guaranteed to work for 90 days, look somewhere else. Sony DOES NOT stand behind their products.

Regarding the Sony SVR-3000, I purchased this product on 11/14/2002 from Abt Electronics. Today, 9/1/2003, the hard drive started clicking and the unit fails to boot. To replace the hard drive myself from www.9thtee.com, it will cost approximately $230.
