Pros: Lightweight, Sleek, Good Digital Media Software
Cons: Hopeless battery power, slow computing speed, major hardware problems
The Bottom Line: Never buy it. If everything is fine, you are lucky. If something goes wrong, God save your soul from Sony after sales.

| experio's Full Review: Sony VAIO FX340 PC Notebook |
I bought Sony FX340 1.5 yrs back, and though I was quite impressed with its digital media softwares and its sleek looks, I started facing problems pretty soon. The battery doesn't last more than 45 minutes that too if you are using the laptop for nothing.
The system gave major problems with some background process consuming the entire CPU power and almost choking the system to death. The Sony online help were not at all co-operative saying this is a software problem and software is only 3 months warranty.
And then one day the entire system collapsed. No response from hard disk, no response from a floppy bootable disk, Sony refused to provide any help (they did but sent a quote for 700$).. got a local repair guy to look at it, who said the motherboard has collapsed and this is a very common problem with Sony laptops. Major problems with motherboards, hard disks or LCDs. Never would buy any Sony product again even if it is considered to be the number one. Sony's after sales service is simply pathetic. And can't say anything better for the systems as well.
A totally disgruntled customer, Vinay
