| peterleo's Full Review: Sony VAIO Digital Studio PCV-RX560 PC Desktop |
I purchased my 560 about 9 months ago to replace an aging desktop I use for my work. The only difference between then and now is I paid about twice what they're advertised for now, and it came with 512 mb of RAM, not 256. XP was suspect then, but proved to be an excellent system for work and I no longer have to reboot 3 times a day to recover lost resources.
This particular machine is my personal computer and runs 18 to 20 hours a day, every day, my entire business is entrusted to its faithful operation and to date, the machine has performed flawlessly. I am self employed and the praise for its performance is not exaggerated.
I was not going to write a review about this computer but one thing must be said about Sony desktops. If you work long hours with a computer, the first and best thing you'll notice is that they are extraordinarily quiet. This is a true blessing when you realize how noisy your desktop really is (which you probably won't until you try one these). It makes long hours staring at a flat panel far less stressful, and, I promise, the difference is tangible. My wife uses a Hewlett Packard 7960 in an adjoining room, and I can hear it from here. She is very happy with her toy, and doesn't use the Sony so can't really comment on the difference. I'd buy her one of these, but why spoil her bliss? Cruel? Possibly. Frugal? Yep.
