I purchased this computer with two main objectives: one for multimedia, especially digital pictures; and, two for work and home use, but mainly work use. I like the sleek look of this lap top and it performs well. It comes with all the features I need (and one would expect) for multimedia computing and home/work needs. The DVD/CDRW is especially good and does fast burning of CDs. The graphics card is fast enough and handles 3d graphics nicely. I have used this computer with Photoshop 6 and it handles quickly, and without any burps, large and complex jpeg files. The 15 inch monitor adds extra screen space for viewing and working on digital pictures and for viewing dvds.
Two draw backs. The first is very minor, but it does not come with a floppy disk, but you can purchase a USB FD as an option (the reason I need a floppy is that I still have hundreds of jpegs stored on them). The second is that it is heavy and large. Setting it on your lap is quite awkward and you have a feeling that it will accidentally tumble off and break!
I have looked at other lap tops in this price range (under $2400) and the Sony VAIO GRX 550 comes packed (excluding the floppy disk) with the most features.
