I remember I bought my former step son this game one year. I cannot recall when, but he and I used to play this game together and when I was not playing this game with him, his best friend who was our neighbor would come over and they would play this game.
Sometimes when I would pick up a card and tells me to go forward, my pawns would sometimes get past his and he used to sometimes start crying. He was about five or six at the time, but during that period, if anyone beated him in a board game, he would tend to cry. I, of course had to teach him the rules of this game and that it was not the end of his universe, that this was a friendly game, but I will have to admit, this game can become somewhat intense, even when I'm playing with an older person.
Boy, when my former step son picked up a card and would tell him that he had to go forward several steps ahead, he would feel good that he got his pawns past mine! But hey, that is part of the game! It goes either way and the game can sometimes be very long before it finally ends. I remember it took both me and my former step son almost two hours before the game ended, but we would both be very happy once it ended and no hard feelings.
What I really like about this game is that when I pick a card, it will tell me that I either have to move forward or backwards what ever number of squares it tells me to move. My favorite color of pawn when I played this game is green. I like the color green to begin with. It's my favorite color.
This game does not cost very much and you can buy this at Toys R Us or any other department stores that have a game department. The cost of this game is $4 to $8.
All in all, this game is a wonderful and challenging board game. This game involves 2 or more players. The more players you have, the merrier it gets and as I have said earlier, it can be somewhat intense, it is actually very fun.
This game is for players 7 yrs and up. This too, is a perfect family game. Perfect to play on a rainy day or just play for fun.
