Pros: It makes a arduous process simple
Cons: It is essential to clean well (screen & heating element) very well
The Bottom Line: It takes a little time, but save a lot of money if your family drinks much soymilk. You can also make nut milks with the machine, which are quite interesting.

| kebleil's Full Review: Soyajoy Soy Milk Maker |
As adults, my husband and I have gotten away from drinking cows milk and probably for good reasons. We became interested in soymilk, but as you all know, it is very expensive and most of them are commercially sweetened and treated to make them appeal to the masses. We were already buying fresh tofu from the Asian store the kind you find in hunks floating in a 5 gallon tub that you reach into with a plastic bag gloving your hand and then turn the bag inside out to encase the tofu an adventure in itself! Lol! But back to the Soyajoy milk maker.
Hubby got interested in this before I did, but eventually I started shopping around on the internet to find, first, what was out there, and then to identify the better product. My search lead me to this machine. I contacted their customer support via email with a couple of question and received a quick and helpful response. After a few more days of contemplation, I ordered the machine.
You have to soak your beans over night, so I did that. Youll be surprise how few soybeans it takes to make a batch of the milk. So I followed the instructions and the machine followed its automatic schedule to the conclusion of a perfect batch of soymilk. It was so easy! The instructions say you can double batch it (process it twice), so I tried that. Cant say I noticed a lot of difference, but I did feel it maximized the nutrition from these humble beans.
Cleaning the heating element after the process is over is the hardest part. And you have to do this between batches or you will notice a scorched flavor to the milk. The screen that keeps the soybits out of the milk is very fine and the holes will eventually get clogged. Dont worry, though, included with the machine is a sample of a cleaner supplied by the manufacturer for this purpose. Just dissolve the powder in a contain with enough water that your screen will sit down in it. The cleaner works very well and you can save the solution to use again later.
All in all we have been very pleased with this item.
