I have had fish for quite a few years and for the last few, I have been raising fish in larger numbers than ever.  I have six tanks running at the moment, and I have a wide variety of fish. 

I have guppies, glofish (zebra danios with neon coloring), boesemani rainbows, cherry barbs, albino cory catfish, neon tetras, black neon tetras, glo stripe tetras, clown pleco, half moon betta, gourami, and bristlnose plecos.

Over the last few years I have used a variety of foods from Omega One, to San Fransico Bay Company, to Tetra, to Ocean Nutrition.  I have used a few others, but these are the main ones I have used.

My albino cory catfish and albino bristlenose plecos were a puzzle to me. I had looked all over for the best food to feed them and was recommended over and over to try out the Omega One Veggie Rounds and Ocean Nutrition sinking pellets for bottom feeders.

I tried to feed them the sinking pellets and they just were not that into them.  The Omega Veggie Rounds were a bigger hit, but my plecos and catfish just would do their own thing and when I dropped one in, they eventually found them and would eat, but they usually ignored them for a while.

After a while, my fish were not eating that well and I became concerned.

ARE SPECTRUM H20 STABLE WAFERS REALLY DIFFERENT?

I had been expressing my concern about my plecos and corys to someone who was an even bigger fish enthusiast than I am and was immediately told to change to New Life Spectrum H2O stable wafers.  I was not sure that would be a big difference, but I was willing to try.

The wafers come in a flat container with about 4 oz of product in it.  The wafers do smell really good and are easy to break in half if need be.  The idea is that they stay at the bottom of the tank for 24 hours for bottom feeders and small fish to pick at.

Yeah, right.

HOW DO MY FISH REACT TO SPECTRUM H2O STABLE WAFERS?

So, the first day I got the wafers and put them in the tank.  The fish as usual ignored me and went about their business.  I was about to leave my tank room and go about my business when suddenly the atmosphere of the tank changed.

My plecos began to sniff the bottom of the tank knowing they smelled something.  They found the tablet and began to tumble and fight over it.  In all of my years in fish keeping, I had never seen fish figh like THIS over food.  I ran over and got the tablets and put in another, and the rest of the fish freaked out and began to attack the tablet like their lives depended on it.

The plecos and all of the rest of the fish went NUTS over this food.  It was a mass of flashing silver bellies, contorted bodies and flying particles as all of the fish attacked the wafers trying to get their piece of the pie.

I looked at the other tanks, and similar pandemonium had broken out.  The corys who have not gotten overly excited about anything in a year came to life and the tank was a flurry of activity.

DOES THIS FOOD MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

New Life Spectrum H20 Stable Wafers has completely changed the atmosphere of all of my tanks.  The colors of the fish are twice as intense, and the activity of the fish has skyrocketed.  All of this just from fish.  My corys are swimming and full of energy having been rather sedate for a long time.

The rainbows grab the pieces and play keep away with each other. The guppies and glofish all gather around and get excited when I give them one.

The other thing that cracks me up is for the first time in all of my years keeping fish the fish line up every morning in a line (including the plecos and corys) and wait for me to drop in a wafer daily.  I have NEVER had a food generate this much excitement in fish tanks EVER.

The nice part is that the food does not make the water cloudy.

FINAL COMMENTS

I can not highly recommend the New Life Spectrum H2O Stable Wafers enough.  They smell great, the fish love them, they don't cloud the tank, and the improvement in my fish has been remarkable.  They are also easily vacuumed up after a while of working their way into the gravel. 

The price of $8 a jar is great considering that ALL OF MY FISH LOVE THESE, so I don't have to buy a ton of different food anymore.  I also have the Spectrum flake food as well for the fish to chase now and then.

I have read lots of testimonials that you can use this food exclusively and have the best health of anything out there, and I believe it.

I do supplement occasionally with frozen brine shrimp, bloodworms, and veggies, but not very often.  This food has it all.

I have not had any reactions like this with any other brands of food and as you see from the list I gave at the beginning of this review, I have tried a lot of decent quality foods.
