The Bottom Line: Hot Shot Roach and Ant Killer(3) is a good product for killing these types of bugs as well as others. Take the product seriously though for your own health.

My daughter, Erica came home one day recently from work telling me she had ants in her car. Of course I laughed at this and asked her how in the world did she mange to get ants in her car? She stated that she had picked up something from the ground that had ants on it and thinking she had got all the ants off the piece of paper, only to find out later she did not. Funny uh! I thought so! I told her to go buy something to spray her car with to get rid of the problem, but of course since it was her car and since she has a job, it was my responsibility to buy something for her. NOT!
Over the next two weeks that child put up with those ants. They would come and go and of course we all heard about the ants. I do believe she was starting to name the all! She would ask me what to use and I once told her to use the Windex® that at least it would kill on contact what she could find. However, it would not get rid of them. The funniest thing we heard about the ants came to us at 11 o’clock at night. She came in from work telling us that an ant was on the dash looking at her. Studying her as if the ant were trying to figure her out. Of course we agreed with the any. LOL. She waited until she got home to kill the ant in order not to wreck while driving. I told her that she not had killed her newfound buddy and of course she didn’t like that statement.
She kept forgetting to stop by a store or when she was in a store she forgot to pick up something. I kept waiting for her dilemma to end but to no avail. So, finally one Friday when I was in Wal Mart I actually broke down and bought something for her to use. Now mind you since I get those sugar ants from time to time in the house I told myself I was buying it for the house and not her to make myself not feel sorry for her. She did offer to pay for it but I told her to forget about it. She used the product and the ants were gone. When I bought this product I choose it not only because of its name but also, because of the price. It was certainly cheaper than the other products at 1.97.
The Product
Hot Shot® Roach and Ant Killer(3) kills on contact and last up to 12 weeks. This particular scent is a floral scent that actually smells pretty good. It is not a strong scent at all and it doesn’t smell like you just sprayed bug killer. The can is pink in color and as mentioned above I paid 1.97 for a 17.5 oz (1lb 1.5.oz/496g).
It has a secure cap that has a push button sprayer on it found right on the very top of the cap. The sprayer is slightly hidden by an opening that I think allows great safety when using the product.
”This is the fastest killing Hot Shot® ever”, according to the can anyways. I must admit though that I have used Hot Shot® before and it has always worked but I did find this to work quicker than usual. It killed those ants in Erica’s car right away and all was once again stable in the home for at least 60 seconds.
It will kill cockroaches, ants, carpenter ants, crickets, firebrats, silverfish and spiders, including the black widow spider. However, you must spray the spider directly in order to kill it. I don’t do spiders myself. That job is left for hubby. It will also kill Rice Weevils, Mediterranean Flour Moths, Red Flour Moths, Stored Product Insects including the adults and larvae, such as; Confused Flour Beetles (what ever they are, never heard of them), Saw-toothed Grain Beetles (again, never heard of them) and Indian Meal Moths. I find this information rather troubling since I have no idea what kind of insects they are! Feel free to enlighten me if anyone is familiar with these pets.
You can choose a Fresh Floral Scent, Fresh Pine Scent, Clean Fresh Scent, Citrus Scent and Unscented. You can also find them in a 12 oz size for a slightly less price.
The active ingredients are: prallethrin 0.02%, tralomethrin 0.01% and other ingredients 99.97%.
Use and Warning
You should shake the can before use and then spray the insect on contact. You should spray the area until wet while moving the can back and forth. You don’t want to have the area to wet for that is wasteful and not necessary. You should spray around your doors and window frames when treating for ants.
You can spray the product in between your stove and cabinets or refrigerator. It depends on how your kitchen is laid out.
You should never spray towards anyone or on an area where a child/baby may get. You should not spray around your pets or their sleeping areas. Nor should you spray around food or food containers.
Certainly keep out of reach of children!!! You should store this product in an area where children will not find it. The area needs to be dry and cool as well. You should not put this product near heat or flames. You can recycle the can after use.
Should you get this product on your skin rinse right away. Should you get it in your eyes rinse them immediately and call your doctor or poison control center. Should you get any on your clothing you need to take them off and wash right away.
You should read all the fine print on the can.

How I Feel
Hot Shot® is a brand that I trust and so can you. It cost less than other brands. Again, you should certainly read the container before buying.
You can even use Hot Shot® Roach and Ant Killer(3) outside for killing bugs and other insects. Just spray on contact and you are done.
I also sprayed around my doors and window frames to keep the ants and other bugs out of the house. I found that the product did not leave a stain behind on my home or frames around the doors and windows. I liked that a lot.
If you need a roach and ant killer this is the one to think about getting.
